You have a great site Tom, I have tried a good many of your tips. My wife and I are new to TH, but have found it most enjoyable. It seems like everywhere, I read, somebody says something about batteries and how fast you can go threw them.Well I came up with a solution that works for us. Both detectors take 9 volt batteries, for a total of five, I bought good ones and while using one set I put the others on a folding solar panel. I soldered five 9 volt snap covers to the supply line and it seems to keep everything charged to full capacity. If for some reason we are out longer than expected we still have plenty of power.
